Speaker: Mr. Charles Eby is Executive Vice President of Martin K. Eby Construction Co. and President of Wichita Habitat for Humanity. He on the Board of Directors at Horizon United Methodist Church, on the Board of Trustees of First United Methodist Church, Wichita and a member the Wichita Downtown Rotary Club. He has a B.S. degree in Civil Engineering from Kansas State University. His motto is "Excellence with a Smile".

Wichita Habitat for Humanity, a Christian ministry, improves lives by building homes and facilitating successful homeownership with people in need of adequate housing, regardless of their faith. In Wichita there are over 20,000 families in need of decent, affordable homes. Vision: By December 2005, more than 100 families' lives will be transformed by Habitat ownership. Their goals for 2002 included 10 new homes, $700,000 in gifts raised, 400 volunteer days per house and 2,500 volunteers involved through the year, as well as successful & fulfilling involvement of Americore volunteers as part of our staff.

PreMeeting - Cycle Counting

Cycle Counting is a method of managing one of your company’s largest investments. Its benefits include eliminating physical inventory, evaluation of operating procedures, improved customer service, and ending production delays related to inventory error. This case study reveals how cycle counting was developed and implemented to achieve 98% inventory accuracy and the stated benefits. The presentation explains how to develop and establish ABC codes, cycle count setup, acceptable tolerance factors, and the various reports and methods used to analyze count discrepancies.

Barry Dick is a Business Systems Consultant with Access Group, LLC with a primary emphasis in Operations and Materials Management. He has over 30 years of manufacturing experience, in Purchasing, Sales/Customer Service, Shop Floor Scheduling and positions as Inventory Mgr., Material Mgr., and Production Manager. He has experience working in repetitive and job shop environments, as well as make-to-stock, make-to-order and engineer-to-order operations. He has established and organized numerous Inventory/Warehouse management systems that have consistently generated above 95% inventory record accuracy. Barry earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Management from Wichita State University and is a frequent speaker at the Frontstep International Conference.
