The New Year begins for many with resolutions for improvement and change.  For many companies, it is a time to focus on market improvements, for new budgets and possibly personnel changes.   Hopefully it is creating opportunities for those seeking careers and/or promotions. Have you checked the job postings on our website or Society's?   This should be your lucky year.   Our chapter activities offer excellent ways to network, especially since our next two meetings are joint meetings {as you requested on the last two membership surveys}. 

Please join us on January 9^th {yes, different location and date} at a joint meeting with the Wichita Section of American Society of Quality to hear Dr. Kenneth Case speak on "Vendor Quality".   Steve Plaster, CPIM, had Dr. Case as an instructor and highly recommends him. 
 

February 13^th, another Thursday, we continue our annual joint meeting at the Petroleum Club with the Wichita chapter of National Association of Purchasing Managers {aka Institute of Supply Management}. 

Our long awaited 40^th Anniversary celebration, as well as Top Management Night, is scheduled for Tuesday, March 11, 2003.  In addition to honoring our exceptional group of Past-Presidents, we will present new member certificates, CPIM certification and multi-five year service pins.

We welcome Steven Boyer from Precision Pattern Inc. as board Secretary.  He recently completed the four Fundamental modules and is starting on his CPIM.   VP of Education Dan Brace, CPIM, is organizing the next flight of Fundamental classes {see page 3.} --- if you are interested or know individuals that would benefit from learning the basics, please contact him at {316} 264-0270 or via e-mail: vp-education@apics-wichita.com .

There are current Board of Directors openings for Treasurer, VP Programs, and VP Public Relations {Publicity}.  It is a great opportunity to volunteer and learn new job skills. Several of our members left the state for promotions {including a couple directors} or have had a change of personal situations --- their service is sincerely appreciated and we wish them the best.  Also we will soon seek volunteer nominations for the next year's Board, which takes office July 1. If you are or someone that you know is interested in serving on the Chapter Board of Directors, please contact any board member.  Open board meetings are held monthly on the Tuesday at 6:15PM following the PDM at Access Group LLC.
