Main presentation:
The biggest waste of all is making a product or feature of a product that the customer--whether internal or external--does not want. This presentation will introduce the use of the Kano model and walk the participants through defining customer needs and wants--both explicit and implicit.

This topic will be presented at the 2003 APICS Int'l Conference in Las Vegas

Speakers: Dr. Whitman is the faculty advisor of the Wichita student APICS chapter. He also has over 12 years experience in the aerospace industry. He has led process modeling projects for various aerospace enterprises and developed multiple database-enabled web sites. He has taught lean classes to local industry. His research interests are in enterprise engineering, supply chain management, web-based simulation, and lean manufacturing.

Kate Keltz is the Purchasing Manager of Precision Pattern and the Past President of Wichita APICS Chapter.
