We all know the benefits of inventory accuracy, yet it remains one of our biggest challenges to conquer. We're being told to reduce our inventory, but how if we can't even control it? Is it just a dream or is it really possible? One overused but underutilized tool is that of cycle counting. Okay, so you know all the basics: it's more effective than physical inventory, count your As more than your Bs, and so on. In theory, it all sounds wonderful.....so why isn't it working? This presentation will go beyond the basics and will answer that very question. Networking and interaction will be encouraged and each participant will come away with tools to use within the real world. Summary While Inventory accuracy continues to elude many organizations, it is not unattainable. One very effective tool (if used properly) is a cycle count program. It can help a company reach their goal of 95% inventory accuracy or better, and the resulting benefits. These include better planning, improved customer service, reduced costs, and ultimately inventory reduction. All it takes are the right processes in place, discipline, accountability and a change in culture for it to work. This is not an easy task, but just as a butterfly transforms, the results as amazing!
