Board
Elections
The Board elections are rapidly approaching.
If you would like to nominate anyone for a board position
please contact Ron Lunsford CPIM @ ronlunsford@cox.net. We
have started having board meetings immediately following the
PDM, so you would only be giving up one night a month. Also,
please feel free to contact Ron if you have a little extra
time to volunteer to assist other board members. It is a
wonderful way to learn more about our own APICS local
chapter and APICS in general.
We had a great PDM meeting last month
discussing certifications (both APICS and ISM) as well as
honoring our Past-Presidents. I am not sure how often we
will have PDMs centered around certifications, but we
definitely want to make the Past-Presidents meeting a
regular annual event.
We have several events coming up in the next few months you may
be interested in--first there is the next PDM, which is a joint meeting with the
National Association of Purchasing Management-Wichita and historically it has
been very well attended. There is the plant tour of Amazon for which we are
leasing a bus. Then there is the upcoming seminar on Sales and Operations
Planning conducted by Mike Ford, who has spoken numerous times at APICS
International Conferences. You can find details on these events elsewhere in the
newsletter.
