Certifications
Companies today are growing ever more
demanding in their education requirements for both the Purchasing and
Planning fields. Whereas in the past a high school diploma may have been
adequate, a college degree and certification can now be the minimum, and
some companies are even requiring dual certification. Certification will not
only make you more valuable to your own company, it will help you do your
job better and do your job more efficiently.
The purpose of the next PDM is to
illustrate what certifications are out there, explain the benefits of each,
and hopefully motivate you to improve yourself (and hopefully improve your
net worth) by getting certified.
We will be covering all the certifications
available through APICS and ISM. These include CPIM, CIRM, CSCP, C.P.M., and
APP.
