Plans for the Year

Welcome to what is shaping up to be an excellent new year for our chapter. First a couple of notes-- in the interest of improving the quality (and maybe quantity) of the food and this year’s PDMs, the price has been raised to $15. Still quite a bargain for everything you receive. Second, it looks like we will be having two plant tours this year- the first at BG Products and the second at Wild West World. There will be a $10 charge for each of these.

Now is the time to be thinking about attending the APICS International Conference in Orlando, Oct. 29-31. If you have never gone, this is a tremendous opportunity to receive world-class information on the latest trends and developments in our field. More information can be found on national’s web site www.apics.org. Do try and make it, I am confident you won’t regret it, not just for the education, but also for the opportunity to network with people from all over the world. It really is a great experience.

As I said at the onset, we have a great year in store for you. The board has been working hard and we will have interesting and informative speakers at the PDM. Mike Ford will be doing another seminar and I already mentioned the two plant tours. So keep an eye on our website www.apics-wichita.com  and we look forward to seeing you at the PDMs.

Have a great year!
