Aerospace Systems and
Components Aerospace Systems and
Components, Inc. (ASC) was founded in 1969 by Charles Peer, an ex-employee
of Learjet (and Beech Aircraft). The first product was a temperature
control/mixing valve called the "H"-Valve 1that was and is still used on
Learjet’s.
In May, 1997, ASC moved from its location
of over 25 years at 1620 S. Broadmoor to its present location in the Great
Plains Ventures Business Park at 5201 E. 36th Street North in Wichita, KS,
USA (67220).
ASC revenues are derived from three major
offerings types: aircraft components, replacement detail parts, and
overhaul/repair services. ASC’s core product competency is pneumatic valving.
The majority of the revenue is attributable to these products with the
balance derived from legacy products (primarily motors and blowers). Within
pneumatic valving, 39 percent of pneumatic valving revenue is associated
with butterfly valves, 28 percent with gate valves, 14 percent with check
valves, and 19 percent with other types of valving.
ASC was recently recognized as the Wichita APICS Chapter Company of the Year. ASC is an AS 9100 certified company that uses Syteline 7 with data
collection for an ERP system. ASC places a strong emphasis continuous
improvement though the use of Six Sigma, 5S, and continuous improvement
teams. .
