Conference in
Denver was great!
I hope those that attended the APICS
International Conference in Denver found it to be very
educational as I do.
We had a standing room only crowd at
the October PDM, it is great to have had 66 in attendance.
We also presented an award to Roger Klocke for Member of the
year and to ASC for Company of the year. I want to thank
Roger his many years of dedicated service to the chapter.
The Wichita Chapter of the American
Production and Control Society (APICS) selected ASC as the
2006-2007 Company of the Year. Ken Seaman accepted the award
for ASC at the October 9, 2007 Chapter meeting.
Carla White, Vice President of
Education, presented the award and said ASC (Aerospace
Systems and Components) was selected for several reasons
including:
-
For
the overall size of ASC, the company has a high degree
of participation.
-
ASC
has 7 active APICS members, 2 of which are Certified in
Production and Inventory Management (CPIM)
-
ASC has 4 employees in training and pursuing their CPIM.
-
ASC fully supports their employee’s education,
certification, and APICS membership.
-
ASC sponsors CPIM classes on-site.
-
ASC is hosting a plant tour in December 2007.
-
The Chapter Vice President of Programs is an ASC
employee.
Ken Seaman in accepting the award
expressed the gratitude of ASC’s employees for the peer
recognition.
Don’t miss the upcoming PDM on ERP-Tool
for Continuous Improvement in the Aerospace Industry by
Edward Talerico.
APICS Supply Chain Against
Hunger is a Success Inspired by the APICS 50th Anniversary, the
APICS
Supply Chain Against Hunger Contest has been a
way to demonstrate the power of the supply chain and the
impact APICS members make in our communities. Since the
contest began in May, we have raised thousands of dollars to
help the hungry and received numerous supply chains from all
over the country. Thank you for your participation!
See you soon!
