It's SPRING! and I'm Springing with Excitement! I hope everyone remembered to spring forward! I am certainly looking forward to that first trip to the lake, Riverfest, and days where shorts are appropriate for most outings. Teena, thank you for an exciting and interactive dinner meeting! Your presentation on JIT was educational and informative. Those who previously had not enjoyed a class with Teena received a unique opportunity to experience her dynamic teaching style. Free Dinner Meeting! If you can, please attend the engineering open house at WSU on April 7 & 8. Your support helps students understand the advantages of an APICS education. Our student chapter is comprised mostly of Industrial Engineering students who will have their projects displayed highlighting their successes and pitfalls. It is a good way to stay in touch with what is happening in industry and academia. If you go, find our display and sign up for a FREE Sr. Chapter dinner. As you may know, each year we thank the person and company which has provided the greatest support to our APICS chapter by presenting them with an APICS Support Award. In an effort to reflect the sentiments of our members, we are seeking nominations from each of our chapter members. April is Seminar Time: A time to improve our knowledge through education and our chapter performance by enacting lessons learned. This year we present: Sales and Operations Planning by Dick Ling. Dick is an internationally known author, educator, and consultant. When I have asked, companies said they used Dick Ling's methods for Sales and Operations Planning. I had the chance to meet Dick at the APICS International convention last October and found him to be an excellent speaker who can clearly explain things.
