Greetings from the Board . We value you as a member and want you to get involved. We need your interest, regular presence at the Professional Development Meetings {PDM}, and ongoing efforts towards "Success through lifelong learning," as well as your financial support. You have the power to help you friends and colleagues invest in their future. Introduce them to APICS! Start by inviting them to the next PDM. Who knows, one of you might even win $50.00!
. . .
The Board of Directors also extends a warm welcome to any and all members to attend our regular BOD meetings on the third Monday of each month, usually from 6 to 8+PM. We meet in a conference room graciously provided by ACCESS GROUP at 348 South Ida. Space is limited so we would appreciate advance notice. Please let Steve Plaster, or me via e-mail rlunsford@kscable.com know by the prior Thursday.

Our budget for 2001-2001 {fiscal year started July 1} presented some challenges but we have approved a break-even budget. Just as your environment continues to change, the Chapter environment has changed. Since many of the larger companies prefer to reimburse college classes, such as CPIM or CIRM certification, it is difficult for the Chapter to offer and conduct local training sessions, like they did in previous years. The Board continues to work on the Strategy and Marketing Plan seeking ways to serve you and promote education in Resource Management.

President Steve Plaster introduced new classes in "Fundamentals" and covered part of the Inventory module at our last PDM. These classes, as the title indicates, cover basics for those just starting in inventory or seeking a more professional approach to their job. These are designed as "Fundamentals" and will not replace the certification classes. The first classes will be offered next spring -- please expect more info later.

Our spring workshop is scheduled for April 10, please mark your calendars and plan to attend. It will be an exciting day, well worth attending.

If your address {or your area code} has changed, please notify the National office at www.apics.org,
call 1-800-444-APICS (2742), fax 1-703-354-8106
. Or write to APICS, 5301 Shawnee Road, Alexandria, VA 22312-2317. You can use the same call to request your personal CD-ROM of the 2001 International Proceedings, free! You must ask for it.
.
One last reminder:
We are here to serve you. We need you and want to hear your comments and suggestions.

May your holiday season be filled with Joy!
Sincerely for the BOD, Ronald Lunsford, CPIM, President-Elect
