What JIT Isn't! |
| The Educational Society for Resource Management Wichita Chapter 71 |
March 2000 |
| Newsletter Editor: Elly Love, CPIM | Elly@accessgroupllc.com |
| Presentation: This presentation will also provide an example of small bite or spot light training some companies are using to meet the educational needs of their workforce while lessening the impact to production. Small bite training is delivered to groups in their own work setting often during regularly assigned meeting times. In addition to learning the concept or information being spotlighted, the group has the benefit of experiencing the learning together. This quite frequently helps in applying what is learned and minimizing implementation roadblocks often found through the traditional classroom setting.
About The Speaker: Teena received her Bachelors degree in Business Quality Management from Southwestern College in 1998 and will complete her Masters degree in Adult Education in May 2000 from Newman University. Her membership with APICS began in 1992, achieving CPIM status in 1993 and CIRM designation in 1996. Teena is the current Vice-President of Membership for the chapter and has previously served as VP of Education and Member-at-Large.

| Just-In-Time/JITmay be one of the most misused phrases/acronyms in industry today. JIT seems to be on the tips of tongues everywhere, but often times in a mistaken or negative context. This month's topic, "What JIT Isn't" attempts to explore some of the misconceptions of Just-In-Time manufacturing. Be ready for an interactive and possibly entertaining look at this challenging philosophy. |
