| Answer: Dear Curious, thanks for the note. The first thing I would do is order the APICS Membership packet from our national office by calling 1-800-444-2742, there is no charge for this. They will include a CPIM brochure that will tell you all about certification. Of course they will recommend a list of material you may purchase to begin your certification venture. I recommend determining a plan of study and lining up a mentor/instructor to help guide you. There are several options. One coming up this spring is a chapter workshop April 15 & 22, The Basics of Supply Chain Management. There are also classes at Wichita State University (978-6647) and Southwestern College (684-5335). Another good place to learn more and to network are our monthly chapter meetings. The next one will be at 6:00 pm, March 14th at the Sheraton Four Points Hotel at Kellogg and Rock Road. Full details are within our newsletters on the website you visited. |
