President's Corner by Kate Keltz, CPIM

We did it again! The Passport Awards were announced and Wichita was able to claim the Platinum Award for Chapter Management again! Congratulations to Brian Machino and Dan Hoobler. Good work by the 1999-2000 Board of Directors.

I am writing this from Minnesota after attending the Fall Region meeting. I won't brag about the 70 degree weather, but it was nice. Announced at the same time during Region was the addition of Advanced Supply Chain Management Education.

This education is offered on-line. For demos and a review of the on-line announcement, go to www.apics.org/educationonline. Look for information within the next few months about the also new Fundamentals courses. These are designed for new persons in the field of Materials Management to learn the "Fundamentals." Also, if you are interested in the CIRM certification courses, Southwestern College is looking to fill classes now. CPIM classes and workshops will be offered throughout the year. Look for information in the newsletter!
Kate Keltz, CPIM If you need more information on any of the education areas, please contact any of the board members and join us at the Professional Development Meeting in October. Hope to see you there!

               Sincerely,
                             Kate Keltz, CPIM
