	APICS society has many awards that are given for international consideration. Among these awards are the Voluntary Service Award, Corporate Awards for Excellence, and the Student Chapter Mentor Award. This year with the help of Dr. Malzahn, the student chapter president, Karthikeyan S. and Brian Maschino, I submitted the necessary paperwork to enter Dr. Larry Whitman into this contest. Much to our delight Dr. Whitman won the award. Congratulations Larry on a job well done! This award is well deserved as Larry spends a lot of time encouraging and supporting the student chapter at Wichita State University. Thank you Larry for all of your hard work and commitment to the field of resource management. Kate Keltz




Dear President, We are doing pretty well this semester; so far we have had two meetings showing 'Resource Management' videotapes one with Debra Smith, the author of "The Measurement Nightmare How the Theory of Constraints Can Resolve Conflicting Strategies, Policies, and Measures." The other about The Boeing Company. We also had a student presentation on 'Collaborative Product Commerce.' We have had two board meetings for future program planning and budget allocation and we had an officer transition meeting. Four of our students attended the region meeting in Hastings, Nebraska. The happiest news is, we won the gold award for the second consecutive time and we swept all the three places in the Donald W. Fogarty International Student Paper Competition at region level for grad students and we won the third place in under grad level. We are planning to have a membership campaign with our welcome party by September 28th with a contest in the format of "Who wants to be a millionaire?" all of you are invited. I am happy to share this news with you and we thank the parent chapter for its continued support and encouragement. Thank you.
